Vero: Mindset & truth
The Belief Audit
Most of the rules you live by, you never actually agreed to.
Write ten things you believe about yourself. For each one, trace where it actually came from: a parent, an ex, a church, a bully, a headline, a story you told yourself once and never questioned again. You're not trying to decide yet whether the belief is true. Just trace the source.
Need help getting started?
Blank page got you stuck? These aren't required. Just finish one of these sentences in your head and see what shows up. Whatever surfaces first is worth writing in the rows below, even half-formed.
- Something you were told about yourself as a kid that stuck
- Something you believe about your body: what it's allowed to look like, want, or take up
- Something you believe about whether you're lovable, or how much love you're allowed to ask for
- A rule about work or success you follow but never actually chose
- Something your family believed that you quietly absorbed as fact
- Something you believe about being gay or queer that you've never said out loud
- Something you'd never say out loud but privately believe about yourself
