The Role Map

Below is a long list of identifiers. Read through them and place whichever ones genuinely resonate into one of the four boxes. Leave the rest alone, there's no need to use them all.

A note on where this comes from: this exercise is adapted from Role Theory and the Taxonomy of Roles, a technique developed by drama therapist Robert Landy, which understands personality as a set of roles a person moves through across different situations and relationships. Matt was introduced to this framework during his master's training in therapy, and adapted it here as a coaching exercise, not a clinical one.

A note as you work through this: this work is coaching, not therapy. If this practice brings up more than you expected, please reach out. In the US or Canada, call or text 988 anytime, or search "crisis hotline near me" to find local support wherever you are. You don't have to carry this alone.
